Dr. Michael W. Deem has made significant contributions to the fields of physics, bioengineering, and chemical engineering. Dr. Deem is a well-known U.S. Scientist, venture capitalist, and CEO. Born in the United States, Michael Deem began his academic journey at the California Institute of Technology, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1991. After completing his undergraduate studies, he continued his academic pursuit at the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a PhD in chemical engineering in 1994. Following his PhD, Dr. Deem worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University, where he conducted research in the field of physics.

Outside of his academic pursuits, Dr. Deem is also an avid rock climber and Taekwondo practitioner. He has climbed some of the most challenging routes in Texas. Dr. Deem was a dedicated Taekwondo practitioner for over 15 years and has earned a 3rd degree black belt in the sport. He has competed in numerous Taekwondo tournaments and has won several regional championships.
Dr. Deem’s passion for high-performance vehicles is also well-known. He is the proud owner of a Porsche 911 Turbo S, a car that he has driven on some of the most challenging tracks in the world. Dr. Deem is a regular participant in Porsche Club of America events and has competed in over 50 track events.
Despite his busy schedule, Dr. Deem finds time to give back to his community. He is a regular volunteer at local schools, where he shares his love of science and technology with young students.
